JAGUAR
VINTAGE RACING - THE TEAM
BRIAN J. DONOVAN
Team Manager, and President - Donovan Motorcar Service
A former mechanical
engineer in the defense industry, Brian Donovan turned his passion
for renovating vintage Jaguar E-Types into one of the biggest
Jaguar restoration businesses in North America. Brian founded
Lennox, Massachusetts-based Donovan Motorcar Services in 1984
- the year he started racing his classic 1962 E-Type roadster.
Today, DMS carries out everything from routing services to concours-quality
restorations on British and European classics, but with the main
focus on vintage Jaguars. Back in 1990, he expanded his company's
interest in vintage racing by acquiring a second E-Type racer
and forming a two-car race team. After 19 years of driving the
#62 car, Brian will hang up his helmet to focus on managing the
Select Edition Jaguar team.
BOB
HEBERT
Driver - #61 Jaguar Select Edition Racing E-Type
One
of the most successful vintage-racing drivers in the U.S., Bob
Hebert began his road-racing career in the late 1960s, behind
the wheel of a Lotus 51 Formula Ford single-seater. His successes
caught the attention of Lotus, and he was asked to join the factory-backed
Lotus U.S. team and raced both in North America and internationally.
Business commitments forced him to step away from racing, but
by the mid-80s, he was back driving a variety of vintage racecars.
In 1991, Bob began driving Donovan Motorcar's 1967 E-Type with
immediate success, setting three E-Type track records. In the
early '90s, he tried his hand at GT and Prototype racing and
drove in no fewer than six Daytona 24-hour endurance events.
He was recently voted the SVRA Driver of the Year Award.
JACK
BUSCH
Driver - #62 Jaguar Select Edition Racing E-Type
This
coming season will be Jack Busch's fourth with Donovan Motorcar
Services' #62 E-Type. Recently voted NESCCA Driver of the Year,
Jack also drives an Oldsmobile Cutlass in the hard-fought Sports
Car Club of America (SCCA) GT-1 series for Connecticut-based
Leifert Motorsports. He began his racing career in 1991, driving
in the SCCA SSGT series, going on to win in his class at the
NARRC championships in 1993. Moving up to GT-1 class racing in
1996, Jack has taken the Northeast Division champion honors in
every season from 1996 to last year (with the exception of '98).
He currently holds the GT-1 lap records at almost every North
East track, including New Hampshire International Speedway, Summit
Point Speedway and the Watkins Glen Speedway.
ART
HEBERT
Driver - #62 Jaguar Select Edition Racing E-Type
Art
began racing in 1996, driving vintage production and open wheel
racecars. In his seven-year career, he has won over 60% of all
races entered. He has also finished in the top three an amazing
93% of the time. Along the way, he has achieved multiple pole
positions, track records and driving awards racing front engine,
mid-engine and rear engine cars. In 2001, Art was invited to
drive the #62 E-Type for Donovan Motorcar Services. His first
time racing the car, and his first time at Road America, Art
bested a 60-car field to claim the victory. He then teamed with
his father, Bob Hebert, to win the endurance race with Art's
dramatic last lap pass for the lead in the rain. Since then,
Art has won four of five races with the E-Type, finishing second
in class only once, behind Bob in a 1-2 Jaguar Select Edition
triumph at California Speedway in 2003.
